The Department of Architecture and Environment Design mission is to train independent, competent and reflective diploma graduates with a high level of critical awareness of their academic discipline and are able to confidently relate with the very dynamic practicing world. The skill of an architect is design and the skill of the architectural technology technician is also design as the technician assists the architect achieve his/her design objectives. Therefore the design studio remains at the heart of the programme, with theoretical, technical, contextual and environmental studies underpinning and informing design.


1.Introduction to the leading Building Information Modelling (BIM) softwares.

2. Introduction to the leading Computer Aided Design (CAD) softwares.

3. Learning the difference between BIM and CAD softwares and why BIM is preferred to CAD softwares.

4. Introduction to the leading BIM Softwares.

5. Parametrism in BIM softwares .

6. Modelling simple structures using BIM softwares. 

NOTE:  Students will be expected to familiarise themselves with the different CAD and BIM softwares and tools, and master their basics and interfaces.
